I almost killed my snapdragon starts yesterday with too much heat. The sun was beaming in, and even thought the soil was moist, it was too much for them to handle. Fortunately I noticed in time. Today they’ll live outside during the day, and I’ll prepare the ground to receive them. Snapdragons (Antirrhinum majus) are easy to grow, short-lived perennials, which are treated as annuals. This explains why they often bloom again the next year. They’re wonderful to use in mandalas, when I need a small repeating element.

Went to Brickmaiden for rye bread and muffins. Muffins were still in the oven, so we walked around the White Barn in the wetlands for a bit, then came back to retrieve them. The willows in today’s mandala come from this walk.
