Hellebores rock. Their exquisite flowers bloom in winter, they thrive in shade, and are very hardy. Have you ever had to move plants for their own protection? A month ago we had a big stand of ivy taken out, and before that could happen I moved a batch of well-established hellebores. I knew they’d be trampled if I didn’t rescue them. Fortunately there was a good spot for them to go, with lots of loamy soil. I dug and moved them quickly, watered them, and prayed, They made it, and are blooming like crazy right now.

I love happy endings.
Don’t we all, especially these days!
