The light today reminded me of the last fire season. It’s the day I associate with the start of the Woodward fire, though the lightning strikes came a day or two earlier. So far we’ve been lucky, but the sunrise was glowing orange, with smoke from up north and a grass fire near Mill Valley. Two fireman came by and did an inspection yesterday, and were happy with our defensible space, though if there’s a fire in the trees around us, who knows? We live in a clearing in the woods, like most people on the Inverness Ridge.
