A mandala and two graphite drawings. I haven’t been as regular about posting to this blog. I love doing the art: the mandalas and the drawing, but putting it up online…don’t love it so much these days. I still want to share with folks, and it doesn’t take long to do. The art is definitely more fun. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you’ll know that I skipped posting here, so you get a triple header this time.

The drawings start out so awkward. It’s hard getting the shape down without getting completely frustrated. The key is to slow down, pay attention, and slow down some more. Sometimes I start over so many times, you can see the erasures around the edges. Perseverance furthers — Hexagram 32 from the I Ching. It’s the only one I remember from the early 70s, maybe because I resisted it for so long, in spite of knowing, intellectually, that it’s true. That’s how we learn, through perseverance. So I keep going with the drawings, and slowly they emerge, looking like more than vague pencil marks. Patience, right? Could say that patience furthers.
