It’s true, some days you just have to start over. I used to associate starting over with doing a reset on my mood, my attitude, but it works with art as well, and I welcome it as part of the process. Today I had a time constraint, and needed to be at Millerton at 8:30 for a walk. Then came home and got busy with other things. Better late than not at all.
This one took forever to come together. I started with a squiggle of seaweed and some pink camellias and it just didn’t jell. What remained was the asymmetry that the seaweed shape left behind. Lots of tweezer work on this, and the cut up acuba strips kept filling themselves over. So, I moved them out and replaced them with horse tail fern. Which do you prefer?

We went for a drive up Vision Road, the backside, yesterday. It always seems longer than I remember, and it’s been months and months since we were there. Lots of debris from the atmospheric river on Tuesday, and stunning views everywhere we looked. I played around with the new phone, using the telephoto, but was too far to get a clear photo. I took from our deck when we got home. Much better.

Gorgeous cloud photo!
The acuba for its lightness…the arrangement, a bit off kilter, looks like it wants to take flight…
